Understanding Your Deepest Layer of Muscular Support

I’d like to talk about our ‘core’ - which is so much more than just your abs.

Deep inside our skeleton sits a continuous myofascial line called the Deep Front Line. It spans from the big toe & arch of the foot, up through the deep calf, inner thighs, pelvic floor, psoas, deep abdominals, diaphragm, and all the way into the deep neck and jaw.
This interconnected system is a huge bulk of muscle that supports the structure of your skeleton from the inside.
Because this layer isn’t visible, it tends to get neglected as we focus our attention on the outer muscles we can more easily see and strengthen. Combine this with the realities of modern life - excessive sitting, restrictive footwear, stress, pregnancy and childbirth - and many of us lose touch with this deep layer that forms the foundation of healthy movement, joint integrity, and overall physiological function.
When the Deep Front Line is active and balanced, it creates the internal lift, space, and support your body needs to move and function well. Although this is a structural process, the benefits ripple into many aspects of health.
Reduced pain, tightness, and restriction
Easier breathing, digestion, and circulation
Strength that feels integrated rather than braced
A deeper sense of connection and groundedness in your body
